Dr. Tarig Salam

“I treat my patients as I would treat my family. There
are few treatments in medicine where you can actually
cure diseases or literally save someone's life. As
electricians of the heart, we are privileged to use state
of the art technology to do that every day.”
Dr. Tariq Salam joined Cardiac Study Center's Electrophysiology Department in August, 2003, following a Fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester, NY. He was born in England, grew up in Florida, and received his early medical training in Florida and Vermont.

While in Vermont, Dr. Salam developed a passion for skiing. He loved the mountains there and hopes to expand on his outdoor interests in our great Northwest. In addition to his accomplishments in medicine, Dr. Salam won the 1987 Florida State Track Championship. He and his wife, Sally, have five daughters.

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE:
Dr. Salam and his wife actively support Cardiac Study Center's community outreach programs. The Clinic participates in the American Heart Association's annual “Walk For A Cure”, and the Heart Ball that's held each February. Other projects include work for the American Cancer Society, and support for McKinley Elementary School on the eastside of Tacoma.
