How should I prepare? *separate page
1-2 weeks prior to your exam
Make sure to have a blood test done, Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP).  Let the CT nurse know of any known allergies to medications, shellfish, or contrast dye so proper preventative treatment can be arranged.
No Levitra, Cialis, or Viagra 48 hours prior to your exam.

1 day prior to your exam
No caffeine for 12 hours prior to the procedure.This includes coffee, tea decaf beverages, colas, herbal teas, chocolate and Excedrin.
No alcoholic beverages for 24 hours prior to the procedure.
Drink at least 4 glasses of water the night before the exam.

Day of your exam
No food or drink 2 hours prior to your exam.
Be sure to wear comfortable clothing.  Please no metal necklaces.  Women will be asked to remove their brassiere, if you are having a heart scan.  If you are to have a peripheral procedure, please wear pants or shorts that do not have any metal, such as sweat pants.

After your exam
Drink 6-8 glasses of fluids to aid in clearing they dye used during your exam.

Cancellations must be called in at least one (1) day prior to your scheduled exam.

If you are pregnant, you CANNOT undergo this exam.
